What is it Like to be a Faery Witch?

My Very First Video Ever — No laughing Please!

It is with great humility, bordering on embarrassment, that I post this video. I was talked into it!

It is my very first video. I want you all to see that I wasn’t just being lazy with my posting to the blog this month. I was working hard to learn podcasting, and how to make videos. I plan to use this medium a lot in the future — they will be much better too! I learned a lot just by doing this one, bad as it is!

But I hope it shows you, if you think you can’t do things, that you can. Seven months ago, all I could do was email and simple google searches. In that time, totally non techie me, learned to build a WordPress blog,  make podcasts, interview people, and make videos.

So for what its worth here I am! Just don’t laugh, or yawn, too loud. I can hear you!!!!!

If you want to hear my podcasts, sign up for the free e-course in the box to the top right of the side bar. I have used a few podcasts to give guided meditations in the lessons.

OR go to Gothic Faery Tales at http://www,gothicfaerytales.com

I have podcasts there under What Are Gothic Faery Tales? and Parts 1 & 2 of Roses, Briars, Blood. I should have all 11 parts done by next week. I like this story and I read a lot. So if you have any love for fantasy fiction at all, why not give it a try?

Thanks for watching if you did.

  1. just viewed video twice
i didn’t forsee when i used to stop by Arlene’s stall
that it would lead to so much knowledge coming my way

  2. I think the video is very natural, it isnt falsly edited, it shares your insights,& inner light and dark, in balance, it has so much more to say, as we can read you as you also tell your story…wonderful…I am a tad behind on last 2 lessons…need time to assimilate them..but as emailed prior the Tuatha De Danann gateways exercies was major powerful for me.

  3. ok…i didnt think it would be this good! totally adorable, youre so engaging, even in a vid! can have it on while doing the dishes and get in touch with my inner witch = genius.

  4. Thanks you guys! I was actually scared to look at my blog this morning. I like making videos so I will do more. I would love to share some rituals with you and stuff.
As for the lesson, don’t worry about the time it takes. I did those workings twice a week for years. They never get old. I still do them. The more you do them, listen to them, absorb them, the more powerful your magic and Faery contacts will be.
    Have fun!

  5. Thank you Arlene, for sharing this: that was very emotional for me to watch. So much of what you say hit home for me. (And I won’t wear headphone outside either.) I think everyone who describes themselves as a witch or considers themselves a witch or secretly fears or hopes that they are a witch should see this video. Which I thought was very professionally done. If you hadn’t said it was your first video, I would never have known. The quality and clarity is far superior to many others I’ve seen.

  6. Thank you Judika,
It really is nice to know you were moved by this. I almost scrapped it.
    Take care!

  7. Wow, I am amazed by your 1st video! : ) I really enjoyed how it seems you were talking to just “me”…..and very intense.

I signed up for your course a couple months ago and I feel such an awesome and astounding kinship and resonance with you and your words….beliefs and insights. It feels like home!

Thank you SO much for writing your blogs and sharing exquisite thoughts and feelings, it means the world to me. I have all my life felt alone in society…off…never ever fit in anywhere. Never found a kindred soul who thought and felt as I do.

So it has been awe-inspiring to find this blog and your words.

    Thank you! ~ Share

  8. great job! you are clear & succinct with such a lovely open presence..thank you! am still having trouble accessing the lessons. but am moving this weekend & will have a new line by the end of nextweek, so maybe it will improve.

  9. Share and Jonquil,
Thanks so much for your kind words!
Jonquil, Just go up to the navigation bar at the top and click on the School tab. The password is in your emails — I think, in the last one I sent I put it in. I hope you can figure it out as I think you will enjoy the lessons.
Keep me posted and good luck with your move!

  10. Thank you for sharing your video… your blog will feel so much more intimate now… like I know you a lil better :)

I was just wondering where you are from in MA? My husband is from Amesbury and my High Priestess is from Springfield. I’ve had the opportunity to visit Salem a few times and I just absolutely love it there…. can’t wait to get back :)

I’m looking forward to more videos!

    A Lil Enchanted,

  11. Arlene, you did a great job with your video! You explained your ideas very well. Did you have to try several times, or did you get it right the first time you spoke? Video is such a great tool for blogging.

  12. Hi David,
Thanks! I wrote a script and then I couldn’t see it without looking the wrong way. So i tried to stay on topic in my head. Good thing I could edit it! I made it on iMovie in my Mac. Not very many takes. I almost scrapped it, now I’m glad I didn’t. You should try it too. It would be fun to see you.But one thing is my hard drive died on Saturday, and I had to get a new one — long story but it worked out to be beneficial. If you make audios and videos, make sure you have an external hard drive and extra memory.
    Take care,

  13. LeShan,
I am from Leicester. Its outside of Worcester. Still very unchanged since forever almost.Really pretty.
Did you ever hear the song Suzanna Martin?
“Suzanna Martin was a witch that dwelled in Amesbury… Amesbury and Beverly were really where the “Salem” witch trials were focused I think. The borders of the town may not have not have been then what they are now.
I’m glad you like the video. I will be doing more now I got the hang of it.
    Take care,

  14. This video will be of great comfort and inspiration to all who see it! I especially liked your comment about not always being “plugged in.” The Good People spirited away my mp3 player months ago, and though it confounded me at first, I feel they did it for an important reason: so that I would learn to relate deeply and directly to the sounds of my environment and to subtle messages issuing from other realms. So often, it seems the most valuable insights are spoken in soft voices, audible only to those willing to listen closely. Beautifully done!

  15. Arlene,
this is my first time to your blog, it is just amazing ( :
The video helped me so much to understand myself better, I have always felt like there was something wrong with me, that I did not belong here in this world or fit in. It is comforting to know there are others out there who know. I feel like I am in that stage of the dark night of the soul now….how long does this last? Your teachings are such a gift, I am so thankful for your sharing!

  16. I’m glad to hear it Sidhewillow. I really want this blog to be helpful especially as now the world has in some ways become more difficult for us.
I plan more pieces on the Dark Night of the Soul.

  17. That is so great Arlene that you plan to do more pieces on the Dark night of the Soul, I look forward to reading them, and it will help so many through these times!
